Came home late one night and got inspired to write some raps. Decided I wanted to rap over The Base from Sonic Adventure 2 so I chopped it up and wrote about the Earth as a base. That's also why the title is named in the style it is, because the songs in the game have a name with the level it went to.
Fun fact: in case you're curious by what I meant by "18 months, that's what they tell me. Self-destruct likely, the clock keeps counting." then here ya go. [https://www.commondreams.org/views/2019/07/25/12-years-save-planet-make-18-months] (WARNING: Climate Change)
Less fun fact: That article and this song were first posted about 18 months ago.
lyrics
Intro:
Back in the base,
got my mind in the space.
No time to waste,
so keep up with the pace.
Danger to the home zone,
WOOP WOOP alarms on,
hope you think quick,
cause it's about to blow.
Chorus:
Ooooh here it comes...
The shit show.
Verse:
Debt in the trillions
cost the lives of billions,
sold out cheap
not even for millions.
Chokin on the fumes,
as defenses malfunction.
Open up a window
fight your way out punchin'.
Nasty as it may be,
it's not over yet, yeah,
shit's burning down
but the place ain't wrecked.
Eighteen months,
that's what they tell me.
Self-destruct likely,
the clock keeps counting.
[Chorus]
Outro:
Earth is my home,
nowhere else to go,
if the base blows up,
then I guess I'm gone.
Cornered by the heat
and the air I breathe
but you can bet your ass
that I ain't gonna leave.
Thunder claps loom
as I spit my outro,
but just cause I'm off
don't mean I'm out tho.
Danger to the home zone,
WOOP WOOP alarms on,
hope you think quick,
cause it's about to blow.
